Had our son Emmett not picked up an umbrella and rode it around the house one day, I would never have thought to make an old-fashioned Stick Horse (also know as a Hobby Horse).  It's one of those classic wooden toys that has somehow faded out of popularity through the years, but is undeniably a superb vehicle for any young kid to explore their expansive imagination.  Our version of the classic stick horse is lovingly made using beautiful midwestern Cherry, and Poplar.
